Cassie Riek

Growing up in New Richmond, Wisconsin, I developed a passion for sports early on, playing both volleyball and softball in high school. My playing experience includes playing club volleyball and competing at the collegiate level in softball. I join the club with almost 20 years of coaching experience, including seven years of coaching JV and high school volleyball, leading a youth volleyball program of over 150 athletes, as well as over a decade of coaching competitive travel softball.

I hold a degree in teaching with a minor in coaching, which equips me with the skills to inspire and mentor young athletes. I believe in creating a positive and encouraging environment for athletes to grow both on and off the court. As a volunteer youth volleyball coach, I’ve dedicated countless hours to helping players develop their skills, teamwork, and sportsmanship.  My coaching philosophy emphasizes the development of confidence, resilience, and a strong work ethic, enabling every player to enhance their skills while cherishing their journey in sports.

Outside of my career and coaching, I enjoy spending time with my three children, my husband, and two doodles. In my free time, I love watching sports and supporting my nieces and nephews in their activities. Shooting photography and traveling are two passions of mine! Some of my favorite volleyball memories include attending week-long Nebraska volleyball camps with friends,  having John Cook coach us, and enjoying family trips across the country to the NCAA championships!

My journey as a coach continues to be driven by a love for the sport and a commitment to making a meaningful difference in the lives of young athletes. I am grateful for the opportunity to coach for Smash and I am looking forward to an awesome season.
