Hi, my name is Kia Johnson, and this will be my first year coaching SMASH volleyball.   I am extremely excited to be joining the team and to bring my background and knowledge to this organization.  I have played volleyball most of my life and have now had the joy to watch my daughter do the same.  My coaching philosophy is to promote teamwork, trust and effective communication as well as strive for continuous improvement.  The metal aspects of the game and players is also a huge focus.  I have coached on several teams (both volleyball and softball) over the last few years and have a drive for helping female athletes reach their full potential.  Outside of coaching, I work as a Business Analyst for a company that designs impulse items for Target, Wal-Mart and other retailers.  I currently live in Somerset with my two very active teenagers, fiancé and three dogs.  My daughter has played in the SMASH program for the last two years.   Any free time is filled with sports, friends and family.
