Smash Club Volleyball
What is Smash Club Volleyball?
Smash is a highly competitive club volleyball program. USA volleyball (USAV) is the governing body of volleyball in the United States. Badger Region Volleyball is the Wisconsin chapter of USAV of which Smash is a member. USAV determines much of the policies and procedures that Smash must follow to be a member which allows us to attend tournaments. Club volleyball is different from school volleyball. It is a more competitive option for girls that want to play at a higher level for a longer period of time. Smash recruits knowledgeable and skilled coaches who have a passion for the sport and teaching the sport to youth athletes. Our coaches have high expectations of athletes. Athletes trying out for Smash should expect to work hard during the entire season. Smash is a serious commitment for approximately a five month period from October/November through February/March. There is a tryout process for each age level. We strive to have ~9-10 girls on each team and teams are formed based on skills, positions and the vision of the coach/team. The ultimate goal of Smash is to form a team of similarly driven, skilled volleyball players that have a passion for being competitive and giving 100% to the team they belong to. Not all athletes that tryout will make a team. The number of teams formed may vary from year to year based on the number of coaches available and number of athletes trying out. This may mean that only one team at each age is formed. There will be athletes that are cut. The WWVA has developed a relationship with two other local volleyball associations to aid in making sure each athlete is informed about other local opportunities.
